Jail Information
The Culver City Police Department maintains a Type 1 Jail facility, with 30 beds, capable of serving as a local detention facility, used for the detention of persons for not more than 96 hours after arrest and booking. The facility may also detain persons on court order commitments.
Visitation Guidelines
The Culver City Police Department allows in person visitation of inmates daily, between 2:00 pm - 3:00 p.m. Those who wish to visit inmates must abide by the following guidelines in order to be permitted into our facility:
- Possess a valid identification in the form of a driver's license, passport, military identification card, or government issued identification.
- Two (2) adults or one (1) adult and two (2) minors are allowed to visit.
- No person under the age of 18 is allowed to visit an inmate, unless they are accompanied by an adult with proper identification.
- Subjects in custody are not entitled to a visitor until they have been in custody for at least one calendar day.
- Subjects in custody are only entitled to one visitation per calendar day.
- The length of the visitation is dependent on the number of visitations that will be conducted that day.
- The maximum time allotted for an individual visit is 15 minutes.
- Visitors cannot be on active parole, probation, nor have any warrants for their arrest.
- The jail staff may restrict crime partners and victims of the crime for which the person is incarcerated from visiting for security and safety purposes.
- Visitors may be subject to a search of their person and possessions.
- No cell phones are allowed into the visitation room.
- No purses, backpacks or other like containers are allowed.
- The inmates attorney, physician or member of the clergy may visit at any time and will be allotted a reasonable amount of time to visit.
- There are no fees to visit a person in custody.

The Culver City Police Department will comply with the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) and have established standards to prevent, detect and respond to sexual abuse, harassment and retaliation against detainees or prisoners in the Culver City Police Department's Type 1 jail facility.
