On Saturday, May 18th, from approximately 6 am to 11 am, public safety professionals will team up for a training exercise at the Metro Station Platform located at 8817 Washington Boulevard.
Culver City Police will join LA Metro Transit Security, Culver City Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and City of Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments in a full-scale safety training exercise. Residents may observe an increased presence of emergency vehicles and simulated smoke plumes during this time. This emergency training exercise is being conducted to be prepared in the event there is ever an emergency on the Metro E Line in Culver City. The purpose of this drill is to ensure first responders are best prepared to respond in the event an emergency such as this occurs. The eastbound track will be closed for the exercise, but the westbound track will remain in service.
